Basis for holistic training
Endurance training is an essential part of medical training therapy and rehabilitation, as endurance skills form the basis for resilience during therapy.
Of particular importance here is general basic endurance (aerobic endurance). This refers to the performance of the organism when at least 1/6 of the total muscle mass is exposed to a stress situation over a longer period of time.
The decisive factor in all endurance exercise is the type of energy supply: in aerobic endurance, sufficient oxygen is available, in anaerobic energy supply, too little oxygen is available. The type of energy supply is determined by the intensity. In the rehabilitation of orthopaedic-surgical injuries and in prevention, the focus is on general aerobic basic endurance, in which the required performance can still be achieved with moderate breathing activity.
Various endurance tests, such as the submaximal IPN test, the maximum step ramp test and others, are available to determine the patient-specific load.
Our ergometers allow intelligent pulse-controlled endurance training on various ergometer systems.
